What is achieved by the continual development of the Camden Area?
Some may argue that we need to flood the area with millions more people to help sustain the economy. No matter what the council says, I can’t be convinced they are not absolutely delighted to develop this area for the sake of greed. Some of us moved here to get away from urban congestion.
Ask yourself this. Do you want Camden to resemble an inner western suburb like Enmore or Ashfield?
Do you want that kind of congestion?
Between the NSW Government and Council, they will destroy this area within the next few years. They have proved time and again that they want to develop without care for the existing residents, or proper infrastructure like roads, schools or green spaces.
In an article in Macarthur Chronicle August 4th 2009, Nicole Cox , year 12 student at Camden High School, laments the increased urbanisation but accepts the inevitability of it. She may have accepted the inevitable, but I hope she is in the minority.
Can anything be done? It is a long time until the next State election, which is hopefully when this current State government gets what it deserves. until then, more and more people should challenge the Government to try and arrest the march of urbanisation or at least slow it until a government gets into power that actually cares for the people of this area.
